Free spirits

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.  To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable."

       Helen Keller

"Sandruff"

A sufferer of the well-known malady of the islands--sandruff.  Fortunately, this disease is quite painless and rarely fatal.

Confession...

I have a confession to make.  I think I could really get addicted to this blogging stuff.  I've been walking around for the last few days saying, "Oooh, now that would make a great blog entry.  Where's my camera?" to whichever child is closest, say, about a hundred times a day.  I proceed to pull out my shiny new Canon Rebel XTi (a BIG FAT thank you, honey...and you too Jen) and shoot at whatever random object has caught my eye.  So in that spirit, I want to share what E and I see on our walks every morning here in paradise.  (Alright, alright, that last image is what I see every morning on our walks).

How much luggage...?

Question: how much luggage does it take to move a family of six to a faraway island?

Apparently, quite a lot.

Announcing the Birth of my Blog...finally!

Can you believe it?  I'm blogging!  I'm blogging!  I have now joined the ranks of those women that I have secretly coveted for their lack of a technological handicap.  Except that I still have a technological handicap.  (I actually had to pause and ask Senecca how to italicize the word "still").  Pathetic, I know, but nonetheless true.  A little history about my journey into blogland...it took moving across the Pacific into a thousand square foot condo to spur me into picking up where Senecca left off after creating my delicous layout for Mother's Day--Mother's Day!?!?!  Anyway, I finally penciled it in between going to the beach and well, going to the beach.

It's so beautiful here, sometimes I have to pinch myself to see if I'm dreaming.  Speaking of, dreaming is exactly what I should be doing right now because seminary starts at 5:25 a.m.  That's right--a.m.!  And Senecca and I have to be up in order to drag ourselves there on time in the family car "Lurch", but that's a post for another day.  Night, night.
